Can a person challenge a termination if the school board that fired him is invalid?

The school board is illegal because the election commission used district maps that was not approved by the u. s. dept. of justice according to the voting rights act. This happened in south carolina in November 2010 with florence school district one. An individual that is terminated by this illegal board can challenge this termination and prevail. Is this correct?
