Have we thrown the baby out with the bathwater in the Catholic Church?

I recently have been following the Father Corapi situation and am shocked by how in the Church we now treat any priest as a criminal without proof of any guilt. I know we needed to step up to the plate on preventing abuse but don't you think innocent until prove guilty should prevail?
