Are creationists themselves not proof that 'intelligent' design is wrong?

Creationists claim that evolution is wrong because something as intelligent and complex could only come about as the work of a creator. However these people also believe that a man parted an ocean and that the Earth was created in 1962. Surely the most solid proof of evolution we have is these specimens of people who haven't quite evolved to the intelligent beings we call humans?
