1995 pontiac grand am leaks coolant... help?

the car is a 1995 pontiac grand am 2.3l 4 cyl engine. It belongs to my fiances dad and one the way to work one day he ran it hot and quickly learned that its leaking coolant from somewhere. I popped the hood and opened the radiator cap and poured water inside to see if i could locate the leak...and i did. there is water coming out of a spot on the firewall inside the engine compartment directly behind the engine and just a few inches to the left and about halfway down the firewall. next to this spot (which looks like a hose used to be attached but maybe got disconnected. and nothing looks actually broken the spot simply looks disconnected.) right next to the leak is 2 other metal coolant lines running into the firewall. does anyone have any idea where the spot is supposed to be connected too? I looked for an hour or two trying to locate a loose hose or line but did to no prevail. if anyone has any clue on how to get me started here i would appreciate the help. thx!
