Is BTEC media worth two GCSE's?

Right I am in a debate with my good friend over the issue of BTEC Media. Apparently it worth two GCSE's. However I think that is a load of rubbish. A employer will surely see it as a BTEC and at the end of the day lets be honest its not worth two GCSE'S. Realistically in the real world it will not count as two GCSEs. I might as well of took a diploma and got "7 GCSE'S". What do you think? Is it worth two GCSE's?
